Jimmy Butler seems to have found new energy in his second season with the Golden State Warriors. After a tense and dramatic exit from the Miami Heat, Butler has embraced a fresh start in the Bay Area.
Butler’s renewed spirit was evident on Sunday when he made headlines for a candid moment during a Twitch livestream with Brandon Awadis. Awadis casually asked Jimmy who would win in a one-on-one matchup between Butler and Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker.
Awadis likely expected a competitive or boastful response. But Butler didn’t flinch or fake confidence.
“Devin Booker. 11-0,” Butler said confidently.
“Jimmy, you vs. Devin Booker 1v1, who wins and what’s the score, game to 11.”

This honest moment wasn’t entirely out of character for Butler. Throughout his career, Butler hasn’t been one to pretend. After the Miami Heat suspended him last season and later tried to make amends with a welcome video, he responded not with enthusiasm but by showing zero emotion on the court. That same unfiltered attitude seems to have followed him to Golden State.

Whether he was joking or not, Butler once again reminded the NBA world that he’s going to say what he feels. Yeah, obviously no filter is needed when the spotlight is on Butler.
